Broadband Digital Content Management and Delivery System(BCDS)

Broadband Digital Content Management and Delivery System (BCDS) is a network-based, distributed digital asset managment system. BCDS is mainly used between content providers and MSOs, and within the MSOs'networks. It helps the content owners to manage their digital assets, automatically deliver the content to the hosts that request it with the allocated resources, locate contents in the network, issue the rights for the content and acquire the contents that get delivered.

The figure above shows the system topology diagram. BCDS helps the corporations distribute digital contents from the central server to different nodes in the networks efficiently per request.

BCDS will be installed in the central server, regional server and edge servers. It will manage the resources on different servers to allocate bandwidth, encoding resources, etc. to make sure the contents ordered to be sent according to the order contracts. Regional servers can make requests for certain content in a certain format. BCDS also manages the whole lifetime of contents, including content acquisition, content definition, content quality assurance, and content delivery, etc. With the features like content access protection provided by DRM, BCDS can achieve more complex business workflow.

BCDS provides a visual display for the execution of the requests, and resource allocated. It supports automatic resource allocations or manual execution.
